"summer flan excellent results"

star star star star star

Used this flan pan for a summer treat. Don't forget to use Lakeland cake release on your pan first, don't be cheap either first off. I used an all in one mixture. First off I weighed two large eggs Then I weighed out exactly the same in sponge flour, caster sugar and soft spread, adding a teaspoon of caramel flavouring as I don't care for vanilla. Pour mixture into the prepared pan and bake at 180 C for about 20 mins until a cocktail stick comes out clean from the thickest part. Let the flan case cool for a couple of minutes, place cooling rack on top and invert. Ease off the pan, perfection.

"DISAPPOINTED"

My mother bought me this flan tin as she loves home-made sponge flans. Was horrified when I tried to turn out, it completely stuck, leaving half the sponge in tin! I did grease slightly before use and dusted with flour, this obviously didn't help but shall try again without any greasing as it says ( non stick). What a job trying to get the mixture off when washing up! What am I doing wrong? Never had a problem with bakeware before!

"leaky tin"

Bit of a disaster- contents poured out and filled the oven and the macaroni cheese cooking below it. Needs to be on a baking sheet and even then it leaked a lot...cooked in a sponge glue and had to be levered off the sheet!

We're sorry to hear you've experienced this problem. The tin does need to be well greased and we'd recommend using Cake Release, reference 4198 which many customers find produce great baking results. We'll be in touch soon to help.

"MY KITCHEN RAISED FLAN TIN"

I was extremely disappointed with this product. I followed the instructions carefully and used the cake release product purchased from Lakeland (which I have used in all my baking products previously). It made no difference. The sponge stuck to the pan and leaked through the tin. I ended up having to use the sponge to make trifle instead of the fruit flan I had planned. I bought the product to replace my old flan tin, which I have used successfully for many years. I have now decided to carry on using my old tin until I can find a better replacement.
