"Great product" star star star star star I used 9g powder: 7ml warm boiled water. To complete one strip and one whole sheet I used 27g of powder to 21mls water. I beat for around 30 secs (there is so little there) and then I smoothed it firmly onto the sheet which I had rubbed vegetable fat into previously (well-worth doing as it does make the lace come out more easily and more pliable). I spread the icing in different directions to make sure it was fully covered and then baked it at 110* for 7 mins. (fan oven). They came out easily and I stored them between sheets of greaseproof in an air-tight container. They look fab. Thanks Lakeland.
"Absolutely "Magic" Icing" star star star star star I bought my magic icing a while ago & after reading all the reviews I must say I was a little dubious as to the results I would get. I have never used any kind of lace icing before so was amazed to get perfect results 1st time. I used the 9grm powder to 7ml boiling water mix with 2mins mixing, Trex in my mat & then dried in a fan oven at 110 for approx 7 - 10 mins depending on the size of silicone mat. Easy peasy even for a beginner I thought, the only problem area I can think of would be the application to the mat but after a few goes I'm sure anyone could master this like I did.
"Perfect results, every time." star star star star star Another wonderful Lakeland product. I was really reluctant to try this new form of decoration out - but I needn't have worried. Just follow the instructions, and you will be rewarded with beautiful, delicate, edible lace panels. It's incredible how easy it is to make these beautiful decorations. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this, and the mats, to other customers. Such excellent value for money.
"Magic icing powder" star star star star star Very happy with the outcome. I mixed 7ml of boiling water and 9g of powder. Mixed for 2 minutes in a small bowl with a mini whisk. This was more than enough to finish a complete border strip. I then used trex to smear over the silicone mat as recommended in a previous review. I only used trex on half the mat to see the difference in releasing the icing. After six minutes in the oven I removed the icing straight away. It came away easy and I was thrilled. Only difference with trex end I found the icing felt more flexible and not so brittle. But either way very pleased. I would recommend product
"Amazing Edible Lace!" star star star star star I'm a professional baker and regularly use an alternative brand of edible lace for my wedding cake designs. Lakelands Magic Powder is by far, so so much better, easier to use and removes from the mat perfect! I do agree that better instructions are needed on the packaging, as if I hadn't used edible lace previously I may of found it difficult. But honestly for first timers to edible lace this is a must, quick, easy and almost fool proof! Thanks Lakeland for a great product! Sara x
