"Not sure what others' problem was"

star star star star star_border

I decided to go ahead and purchase this knife, even after reading the negative reviews concerning difficulty fitting the blades. I have just used the knife for the first time today, and I must say I can't see what the problem is! I was able to install the blades very easily, and they remained firmly in place while carving. I can only think that the people having trouble were either not pressing the blade release buttons in enough while installing the blades, or not holding them in. The blade 'tangs' also need to go INSIDE the little plates that move when you press the release buttons.

"Love it"

Bought this knife even after reading mostly negative reviews, have used one other brand for many years which needed replacing. I have to agree with David Carr's review, can't see the problem, blades fit perfectly and although I have thus far only used it 3 times, I have yet to have the blades fall out on me, if you have owned an electric blade before, you should have no problems, I would recommend this knife, excellent value for money. Only minor negative I can give it is that buttons are a little awkward to get to with my dainty paws :)

"mixed review"

I do agree with the previous reviews concerning difficulty fitting the knife blades. I think the instruction book is wrong saying to use the larger blade for bread, that does not work the smaller serrated blade cuts the bread perfectly. I like the fact it has a stand and I will be keeping it.

"Not impressed"

Bought this a couple of weeks ago, and tried to use it for the first time, put the blades in for meat, but they fell out trying to cut meat, tried 4 times to get the blades in and when I did succeed it was struggling to cut the meat, in finish I got our carving knife out and cut it without any problems, so I was not impressed with our new product.

We're sorry to hear you've experienced this problem.Another reviewer has mentioned that to secure the blades firmly in to place you'll need to press both the blade release buttons in while feeding them in to the body of the base unit. This is correct and once they're inserted you'll need to release both buttons and you'll hear a click. The blades will now be held firmly and the knife will be ready to use. We'll be in touch soon to help.

"Very disappointed"

So glad to find this with its smart stand - I just cannot cut my home made bread straight. But when I tried it, it was almost impossible to get both blades to lock in place. Only managed it once - then the knife doesn't sit well in your hand, it feels really awkward. Can't say it cut bread - day old at that, at all well. Left stripes from the blades in the bread. Then made the mistake of removing the blades to put on the stand. After 24 hours of both my husband & me trying to get the blades back in, I gave up. Thought this would have been so much better for the price.
