Stainless Steel Nutmeg Grater

LOOK NO FURTHER! Having tried [and failed] with numerous nutmeg grinders over many years, this is perfect in every way. Super and compact design for the cupboard with space for spare nutmegs and base cap too. The most important factor is the superb grind on this one, effortless and IT WORKS, without constantly dismantling the whole unit in the middle of cooking! All previous grinders [yes, we had several] have all been promptly discarded. Well done, Lakeland, yet again!

I was very pleased to see this item in the catalogue. I treated myself to this grater to replace a much loved and used plastic version. On test, it is difficult to twist due to the metal outer surface (looks good but is functionally flawed) and the amount if nutmeg that is delivered on each turn is very little, especially considering most recipes list at least half a teaspoon. To make matters even worst, the device when twisting if you slip will spontaneously fall apart. I will be resorting to my old plastic grater and returning this fancy metal version for a refund.
