Tefal Actifry 2 in 1 Low Fat Fryer Black YV960140

This is an item I have considered buying for years. I now wish I'd bought it back then as it is a lovely item to work with, chips a much nicer cooked than with th previous air fryer I had. Think it's the gentle stirring rather than you shaking the container! Haven't tried a big range yet but everything so far has been beautifully cooked but like anything new it take a bit if learning. I don't find it noisy as I have read on some reviews!

Received this today. Used it straight away for chips in the bottom pan, bacon, tomato and eggs in the top pan. A great success, the chips were beautiful, the bacon and tomato cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, the ramekin for the egg kept getting stuck so had to remove it, next time - use a smaller ramekin. It's seems a bit pricey at first (pleased I bought it a few days ago when it was £225), but if the fish and vegetables I intend to cook are as good as today's meal then it's worth it. It is quite a large piece of equipment, luckily I have plenty of work surface.

I had stopped making chips even with a small electric fryer as I did not like hot bubbling oil about. We tried oven chips but never liked them. Knowing this was the only way we would ever eat chips again I bought the Actifry. How I wish I had done so sooner! They are the best chips ever! My first try was with the recommended 1 tablespoon of oil but they just weren't crispy and 'chippy' enough. Next time I used more oil and chunky cut potatoes and they were gorgeous - just proper chips every time I make them. So easy to use and clean and making chips is relaxing and enjoyable now.

We're a busy household of adults and kids, I've wondered about an actifry before but never felt persuaded that it would be better than just spraying with oil and oven cooking (either chips or meat) but it is SO much better. Having small kids I appreciate anything with a timer that turns itself off when I get caught up or distracted trying to chase kids or stop World War III. Having a gadget that also turns my chips at the same time is even better. Great chips, chicken breasts chucked in the top bit come out brown and cooked but still moist. It's big and a bit noisy but nothing too horrendous.

I hesitated over buying this for weeks. I went for this model as if you have the single model and wanted chicken & chips for instance, you would have to do the chicken in the oven. With the 2 in 1 everything can go in at once. I was still unsure if it would just be a gimmick for a week or two which would be an expensive gimmick but I finally took the plunge and have used it every day since. Chips are amazing. It isn't that noisy, my extractor is noisier, and so simple to clean, done in 2 mins. Best buy ever!
