I found this initially very frustrating but brilliant once you've mastered the latches. Very sturdy, definitely one of my best buys?

Oh dear, I find I don't agree with the other reviewers, I've had my mini chopper for six months and I use it all the time. Yes, there's a knack to getting the bowl in place, but quickly mastered I found. I find it's great for blitzing onions, garlic, peppers and all sorts - hiding veg from my kids, always good. It takes up less room in the dishwasher than it's big brother too. All in all - I recommend it!
I was finding it impossible to get the lid off. Helpline offered suggestions and offered to post me another one. I kept trying and then succeeded. All staff were extremely kind and helpful. Now it is working. It really does need perceverence and a FIRM grip. It is a very strong, efficient little machine.
I am shocked by the negative reviews here. Yes it is a very small chopper, but do you expect for £20?! I am pleased with this mini chopper. I make lots of pizza sauces with it. I just put in the canned tomatoes, garlic, basil leaves and it comes out perfect! The onions are chopped just fine as well. I like mine more "mashy" so I just keep the button pressed a little longer. I did also make breadcrumbs and it come's fine as well. The blade seems fine, and it is easy to assemble. It's perfect for someone who doesn't cook too much or have a big kitchen to store bigger appliances.
I have had a chopper for a year, use it often and would not like to be without now. Chopping is quickly done and if you do not want mushy food (onions!) don't chop for long. The user controls the chopping time. A bit noisy perhaps.
