Silicone Prep A Lot

I spotted this during my last shop and added it to my basket as at such a good price I thought it was well worth a try. Only a few days since delivery I've already used it twice for steaming - once for coconut buns and also for broccoli - and it was excellent, fitting snugly into my 20cm pan with the lip just sitting on the edge and allowing the lid to fit on top. Because it is made from silicone and can be squashed into a smaller shape it takes up very little space in the dishwasher and is easily stored too. A great little find and highly recommended!

I love silicon kitchen utensils especially when they be squeezed and take up no space at all. It has a good size for being usefull to many tasks. I only got it today so I couldn't do much with it yet. There is no smell whatsoever.

We've so far used this bowl for rinsing and draining vegetables, as an additional steamer, and to cradle a bowl so that it wouldn't slip on the work surface. The bowl is easy to clean and to store. We currently use it to nest different sizes of glass bowl so that they don't collide and chip. We're pleased with this purchase.

I bought this on a whim and it is brilliant, i have used it for prepping veg, it sits in the sink without rolling around like a sieve does, It is good for scrubbing carrots and potatoes, and I can now open jars (even with my arthritic hand!) and will certainly be buying another one to go in our camping kitchen box for the summer, it is light flexible and easy to clean.

I have received this item today and, on unpacking it, I noticed that it has a very unpleasant odour (rather like petrochemicals). Food grade silicone normally has no perceptible smell whatsoever. I have tried washing it in hot soapy water, to no avail. I'm not sure what I could use it for because I certainly would not put any food in it!
