"Lovely smooth spoon"

I wanted a replacement for a favourite French spoon that I used to own some years ago, and I saw this one on the Lakeland website and thought I'd try it. Not all wooden spoons are the same! Some are very basic and rough. Then there's the smooth and beautifully crafted type..... like this one from Lakeland! It is attractive and smooth and you can see that it's real wood. And it's a good size, just right for mixing a victoria sponge cake. Five stars!

This spoon is excellent quality, and feels good to use. My only slightly adverse comment is that I do find it slightly too large, especially when stirring food in smaller pans. I think I could do with this one, and a smaller one too.

I’ve had a smaller beech wood spoon for cake making for in excess of 50 years and it has never let me down, so I am expecting this one to also give good service. This is just right for all cooking, especially for use with non-stick pans. Well made, lightweight and a good size.

I used this for the first time making a stew which did take 3 hours + of stirring. The wood at the tip started to take on a dark colour as i was using it and then wood fibres started to lift and you can clearly see the glossy coating completely gone. I had to dump the stew because i didn’t want my daughter to be eating varnish and wood fibres. Very poor quality product and quite surprised because Lakeland is a well used shop in my house for its quality products. You
