But what we like best about this one is the aperture in the centre which allows you to stir, add ingredients and use a hand-held food mixer through it while the guard remains in place. How good is that!

Was dubious this would work, but it does the job perfectly. I'd previously used an old tea-towel to cover my stock pot whilst blasting the soup, but that usually ended in splash escape and a very messy tea-towel. But this guard has revolutionised blending. It withstands the heat from the hot stock pot, and is so so easy to clean. Buy one. You won't be disappointed.
For the first time I was able to mix a chocolate dessert at fast speed from the start, without having a chocolate coated kitchen, nor powder dust over the beater. The opening is large enough for the twin beaters of a hand beater too, not just for a stick blender as illustrated. Sturdy enough to stand up while still attached to the beaters. Superb product!! A medal should be awarded to the inventor of this one!!! Deserves more than 5 stars.
Havent used this more than a few times but it seems to work great when over the top of my stirfrys to stop the splattering. Been fine through the dishwasher and its a ggod size for my large saucepan. Like the fact its completely silicone covered so nothing to scratch my new hob or pans. Expensive but cheaper versions are not good and I have had a few and had to replace them, think this one will last for a long long time as seems a quality product.
I bought this at the same time I bought the Colourful-Ceramica-4-Piece-Nesting-Pan-Set as the set doesn't have lids. and it was perfect for helping to keep heat in and keeping splatter contained in the pot ! Not having to lift it off - now easy to stir things without the risk of getting hot sauces or water spitting out on you or on top of your cooker and it cleans easy ! Love it !
I often cream butter and sugar with my Lakeland hand mixer in my large Lakeland Mason & Cash bowl. I'd often thought it would be great to have a splatter guard but never seen one suitable - until this one. It is fantastic and keeps almost all the butter and sugar in the bowl. I wouldn't be without it now. It's also great when frying and cooking tomatoey sauces that tend to spit all over the hob!
