Designed for use with KitchenAid’s tilt-headed stand mixers like the KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer*, it’s made from coated metal with a silicone blade along one side so it gets right up against the bowl to scrape every last bit from the sides as it mixes.
Ideal for normal to heavy mixtures such as cakes, frostings, cookies and mashed potatoes.

I like this beater attachment as it scrapes down the sides as its mixing. I bought this to replace my first one which I got with my kitchenaid which I purchased well over 10 years ago. So it certainly lasts, even if it is used often. Would certainly recommend . The price you pay is really worth it.
I recently bought a Flex Edge Beater because I had worn the paint off the original cake beater that came with the mixer. I was disappointed to hear instore that I could not buy an exact replacement without purchasing a new mixer. I use my mixer frequently to make cakes and pastry. So I thought I would try a flex edge beater as the next best option. Sometimes the mixture is incorporated evenly other times I need to use a large metal spoon to stir ingredients through. I never had a problem with the old "K" shaped beater. The silicone edge is great for not leaving mixture on the side of the bowl.

I have just used this for the first time to combine sugar and butter - the mixture was mashed up against my bowl walls or clumped together on the attachment. I added some egg and liquids thinking this would help but it made no difference - this did not scrape the side of the bowl at all and therefore is completely useless to me. I see others have had success so not sure why mine wouldn’t work too?!

Great item for making sponges, much better than the beater you get with your Kitchen Aid as it helps incorporate all the mixture round the side of the bowl.
This beater makes the mixing much more efficient without the frequent need to stop and scrape down the mixture. Really recommend.
