Lakeland Make-Your-Own Lincolnshire Sausage Kit

Good idea to make your own - particularly with the recent food scares. Read the instructions, watched the video and took note of the hints from the reviews. Dividing into at least three portions stops overfilling the bag which is quite sturdy. Keeping everything cool as possible and applying steady pressure and it all worked really well. The family love my sausages so much. Glad to see refill kits available. Great fun to make as well

Although it was not as easy as it looks in the video it was great fun. I used Lakelands Meat Mincer and pasta maker to fill the skins and found the skins did not split as you had one hand turning the handle and the other holding the skin. Yes it is an expensive way of buying sausages but the satisfaction and the pleasure my family had eating them made it worth while.

Loved the idea as we live abroad and wanted to make sausages, gave up with the blue bag as it behaved as the other reviewer said and had just decided to make burgers when we decided to try the cake icing gun which worked well and ended up happily eating home made sausages. The skins were good but will probably make own recipes in future and use the icing gun, so the kit was good for inspiration but not really practical.

Just wasted a couple of hours trying to make sausages for dinner. In spite of following instructions to the letter, the skin kept falling out of the piping bag and then split as soon as any meat gets into them. Am returning the kit to the shop as I thinks it's a waste of money

i bought this for my husband as he wanted to make his own sausages - so disappointed. in the end he made burgers out of the meat he bought and only ended up using the seasoning in the packet which was very expensive at £8 plus. he could have just made up his own seasoning for a fraction of the price!!!!! not the usual lakeland quality i expect.
