"Don't be put off!"

Follow Rosemary's 7 point plan to success and you will get a great result. The only thing I changed was to use butter and baking parchment rather than cake release spray and the cake was great. Not over or under cooked, not burnt or stuck in the tin. It took 3 hours at 140 fan but worked perfectly and the resulting ladybird was a big hit.

"Gluten-Free Success!"

I made a Pokemon Poke-Ball Birthday Cake, and as I can only bake gluten-free I decided to try to defy physics and test this out, and it worked! I used a reliable sponge cake recipe (5 eggs) using a gluten free white mix and read EVERY review for tips. I started cooking at 160, but it browned too quickly so went down to 140 after 20 minutes. After an hour (too scared to look before!) I tested it and wrapped it all in foil. 20 mins later a skewer came out clean. It popped out (I used cake release). It had sunk a little and was a bit browned, need to tweak my method, but I am impressed!

"Excellent Product"

I was worried after reading some of the reviews that I might end up with an undercooked cake that I wouldn't be able to get out of the tin. However, this was not the case. I used a 5 egg Madeira cake recipe. I greased the tin with butter and then floured it. I baked the cake for 2 hours at 140 degrees Fan. I am pleased to share that the cake slipped out with no problem at all. I've now got to bake another one as I am making a 'Bath Bombe' cake for my daughter's birthday. .

"Great product, worked perfectly!"

I just wanted to say that this cake pan worked perfectly for me. I was a bit nervous having read the mixed reviews, but took the advice of the other successful bakers. I used a 5 egg sponge mix and cooked it at 150C (fan oven) for about 90 minutes, and it was cooked through without being too brown on top. I stood the hemisphere tin in a brioche pan to keep it steady in the oven. I greased the pan and lined it with parchment and the cake just slipped out of the pan when it was cooked, no problem at all, giving me a lovely dome shaped cake. Now to turn it into a bee! Highly recommended.

"Endless possibilities"

Was a bit concerned before baking having read the reviews. However, one hedgehog and one ladybird later and I am very pleased. I used a 5 egg choc Madeira cake recipe, in the oven for around 1h 50 at 150c (ish). One needed trimmed a little as it peaked (bit that's my measuring!). I lined with a square of parchment with slits to allow it to be neat to the curves. Probably wouldn't win bake off, but husband, daughter and guests very pleased! Next to decide between a malteaser or a hockey ball...
