"A Success!"

I was a little nervous about using this pan / Lakeland recipe but it was a success (although quite a dense cake)! I followed the Lakeland recipe exactly (the full 6 egg recipe for one large pan - that wasn't entirely clear in reading the recipe). I cooked the cake at 150 c fan for 2 hours, frequently checking. I also covered the top with foil after 1 hour and covered the outside of the tin with newspaper. I also balanced the tin on a cookie cutter and stood both on a tray. For decorating I followed a video on Youtube and used hexagon / pentagon cutters - great result.

"Great tins!"

Bought this a number of weeks ago for baking a 'frozen' cake doll for my niece's birthday. Been used twice so far and it was worth every penny. No problems getting cake out of tin - just grease and flour well. Only negative I wish Lakeland would sell a stabiliser for the bottom so keeping the tin upright in the oven was easier.

Thanks for placing your review. It's always nice to hear one of our products has worked well for you. We'd recommend placing the mould on one of the Press & Present cooking rings.

"Another fantastic product !"

After reading all the reviews I was dreading baking a football cake I promised for a friend's boy birthday party . I used Madeira cake recipe with 6 eggs. Properly buttering the tin and some baking paper strips . 140c for 3h. Came out superb !! LOVE Lakeland !!

"Not perfect"

I had moderate success with a Victoria sponge recipe - making four different size sheep cakes for a four year old girl's birthday. BUT, even after greasing the tins well, the cakes stuck when getting them out. Luckily, I was covering them with fondant and marshmallows. Would have been so much better with a non-stick coating inside. Also, one tip would be to balance the tins on metal cookie cutters when in the oven as they tend to tip to one side.

We're sorry to hear you've not achieved total success with this product. We'd recommend using cake release - product ref 4198 to enable your bake to slide out of the pan - this will ensure your creations have a much smoother finish before decorating.

"Better than I expected"

Used with some trepidation for a half football cake, but worked fine. Used Mary Berry's Madeira cake recipe with 4 eggs quantity, probably would have been better with more batter as it didn't fill the tin enough, but it was fine for what we needed. Lined with strips of paper and greased tin with butter, baked at 160 for 30 minutes then at 140 for about an hour. Came out fine and cooked perfectly. Will be using again!
