Lakeland Ceramic Scalloped Santoku Knife

Product number: 16294

One super-thinly sliced tomato is all it will take to convert you to ceramic knives. Slicing soft foods, like onions, tomatoes, meat or fish, with precision, the black, mirror-polished blades of these beautiful knives will retain their cutting edge for much longer than conventional, forged steel knives and will rarely, if ever, need sharpening.

Crafted from zirconium ceramic for durability, they will not rust, do not brown fruit or vegetables and are a lightweight joy to handle. Each one is decorated with the Chinese symbol for ceramic along the blade and comes with its own protective sheath.

Take care of your ceramic knives – they should not be bent, dropped, used to crush food, cut bone or frozen food – and they will reward you with many years of effortless slicing.

"Not what I was expecting :("

This SANTOKU knife is not like all the other santoku knives I have seen/used, this one is serrated, just like a bread knife but not as good. I tried it and it doesn't have the same cutting result as other Santaku knives I have used. Sorry I can't be more positive about this product.

"Inferior"

This knife is just about okay for cutting meat, but it makes a real mess of vegetables. I got mine as a Christmas present otherwise I would have returned it. A real disappointment.

"Difficult to use"

I bought this for my partner for Christmas but neither of us could use it successfully as the hilt extends lower than the blade. It means you cannot have the blade flat on the chopping board unless the handle is over the edge. I contacted Lakeland for advice and they agreed the design is different to all other Japanese knives and offered to refund as per their policy.

"useless prioduct"

very disappointed with this product please do away with it, it will lower your reputation my knife that I use to butter the bread is much better and sharper and does a good job
