"Really pleased so far"

star star star star star

Only made 2 lots of pies so far but some tips. Make my own short crust for the base and use shop bought puff for lids. Freeze spare lids/bases between parchment paper for future batches. I do not turn on machine until pies are assembled. I fill bases until slightly proud of the lip to ensure top lids make good contact with top of machine and therefore brown and cook properly. I place a strip of parchment 1 cm wide by 16cm long under each base. Use the overhanging tabs to carefully lift pies when cooked. 12 mins cooking from cold. Perfect tops. Check after 10 mins elapsed. Out of room........

"VERY HAPPY"

i am very happy with my pie maker , as a couple with no kids i don't always feel like making 1 huge pie , but with this i can just do 2 or 4 if really hungry and so far they've all turned out perfect , i would highly recommend this , especially at christmas time if your doing mince pies , it was my life saver !! lol x

"'More to it than pies' "

This would be useful to those who can't bend to a low oven. It takes little room and stores upright. I have made pies/tarts etc. with different pastry and fillings, open and closed with great success. It saves the fiddle of cutting larger ones to freeze. I have made Bakewell tarts and custard cakes with sweet scone pastry. Also tried giant Profiteroles!! that were a novelty looking like pies and filled them with icecream. And have more ideas to try. So there's more to it than pies. Ideal size for kids and adults lunch boxes, also picnics. It's sturdily built and I would recommend it.

"Makes perfect little pies!"

Brilliant little machine - perfect pies every time, which are sealed and don't stick or fall apart. 2 + sides make a good meal. Couple of tips I've found make it even better - while it's heating up make sure your filling is close to hand and all your pastry discs cut out. Then quickly lay all 4 larger ones over the holes, then push them all down. Fill, top and close . For making your own pastry - 400g flour and 200g fat (half butter half Trex works very well) plus whatever liquid you use to bind it will make 12 pies. Dice fat, mix with flour and freeze for 10 mins before blending them

The machine is superb, and makes the perfect pies, my husband(whom we call pie man) is delighted. A couple of tips, followed the video rather than the written instructions. ie, prepare the pies with the machine switched off, and add 5 mins to cooking time. By doing this we found the pie maker a lot safer to use, and the results were great.
