"Not well suited for their purpose."
Some of my friends have been using ceramic bakeware for a while and raved about it's superior qualities. When I saw these flan dishes I purchased 2 in the hope of nice crisp pastry. However, the dishes are supposed to be heated in the oven before use to prevent them from cracking. How are you to transfer pastry and line the flan dish when it is hot without destroying the pastry? I did heat the dishes, roll out the pastry and then attempt to line the hot dishes quickly. I had to quickly add filling and transfer them to the oven. Therefore not well suited for their purpose. Disappointed.
