Specially designed for recipes that require heating to a specific temperature, such as home-made jam, tempering chocolate, or when cooking delicate custards and sauces, our non-scratch, silicone spatula has an integral digital thermometer that displays a precise temperature as you heat and stir ingredients.
The silicone spatula is heat-resistant to 220°C and dishwasher safe, for added convenience when you’ve finished in the kitchen. For extra versatility, the stainless steel thermometer can be removed from the spatula and used independently as a meat thermometer.

I too have failed to successfully change the battery.

Bought this last year, after marmalade season. Used it for the first time today- brilliant for two batches of marmalade. Now it doesn’t work. I need to change the batteries…. Really? Used for 30 mins at the most!
Thanks for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear of your disappointment in the battery life but batteries will self-discharge over time, so even if they’re not in use they'll run out. We can see you’ve since been in touch to advise the display is faulty and we've sent a replacement.
Loved this product until the battery died. Spent a lot of time trying to get it open having read the instructions via the reviews. One screw came out but the other didn't so clearly it was not me, it was the quality of the product. Ended up throwing it away - sad.

I have just received mine. It is a good, versatile device for measuring temperature of foodstuffs from yogurt through to jam preparation. I noticed several poor reviews associated with battery replacement. I decided to check how best to do this before I started using it. The instructions on the packaging are sadly lacking in how best to open up the battery compartment. The advice from the Lakeland team needs to include: "first loosen/remove the two small grub screws before attempting to separate the battery/switch compartment". This requires a tiny 'phillips' screwdriver head and dexterity
I have one of these but recently I ordered this for a friend. I was planning on ordering more for other friends and decided to read the reviews. Very interested to read other peoples' experiences changing the battery. I too broke mine changing the battery. I ordered another one and resolved to be more careful next time, but it is interesting to note that changing the battery isn't straightforward. grrrrr.
Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear this happened. To do this we’d advise to push off the section located underneath the on/off button, apart from the spatula. You can push out the battery and replace with the new one. To put the battery casing back on place the cover ¾ of the way on then push into place. Thanks again for your feedback.
