This review is for an older version of this product
I fully expected this marker to have metal pins at the end of the 3 marker 'knobs' so I would be able to scribe into the sides of my iced cake. Sadly the ends are quite rounded and made no impression whatsoever on a royal iced cake. Not only that but poorly marked a 'crusted off' fondant cake. I think if it is to be used with any good effect the cake must be freshly covered and fondant still 'wet'! As I rarely use fondant for my cakes due most females in the family being allergic to it I normally only use royal icing and traditional piping techniques for decorating them I've returned this item.
Thanks for the review and taking the time to speak to me on the phone. Due to the feedback we're pleased that we've established that it works better on frostings or softer icings and isn't suitable for the harder royal or fondant icing. I'm glad we were able to put things right for you.
