This grater is the best thing to happen to me since I met my husband! Ok, that might be a slight exageration, but the grater is an excellent utensil. It grates easily and is comfortable to hold/use and best of all the food doesn't fly all over the kitchen. I end up with a neat little pile of grated food with a minimum of effort. I wish I had bought this grater many, many years ago...
Sorry, couldn't disagree with the last reviewer more. I love Lakeland normally, and was looking for a flat grater to replace an old one that's falling to pieces, primarily for coarse grating apples, carrots etc. This grater sadly just mashes everything and leaves me with a pulp.

I bought this "coarse grater" to replace my ancient box grater, but after trying it out I've gone back to the old one! I think calling it a "coarse" grater is completely inaccurate - it grated carrots and apples so finely they were mushy puree, and cheese was a disaster. I've already got a fine microplane grater, so this product which I wanted for coarse grating is not useful at all.

I simply could not use this, did not grate anything, used for carrots and got a mush. How can this be described as coarse? Total waste of money. Cannot return as I no longer have the packaging or receipt, I trusted that Lakeland product would be good. Worst thing is that I also bought the fine grater and it is equally useless.
