"Thinking out of the box" star star star star star_border This review is for an older version of this product Having been most impressed by this range with perfect baguettes and little tarts, I thought a bit of experimentation was in order and, I am pleased to recommend this Tart Tray as a perfect producer of baps or burger buns. Roll out 3 to 4 ounces of dough and press it into a tart indentation, let it have its second prove in the tray and stay on it to bake. Perfick!
"Floppiness" star star star star star_border I bought this last weekend and have had a few goes now. It works well, produces good pastry cases, & cleans well in the dishwasher. Since I am an inexperienced cook, I automatically placed it on a solid baking tray, as I did not know to do otherwise. However, the cases look awful. This is because, as mentioned elsewhere, the floppinness of the tray makes it nearly impossible to press the pastry flat against the sides of the wells, as you can on solid trays. Does anyone have any ideas about how to get the pastry cases to look like the photo on the packaging??? Help, please! support_agent A note from the team Thanks for taking the time to write your review. For best results, make sure the pastry is cold and has been in the fridge for a least half an hour and roll it reasonably thin so it's easy to mould. I'll be in touch shortly.
"so good" star star star star star I have been using these regularly for over a year and would not be without them. I am going to buy a set for my sister- so no more soggy bottoms! I find it best to let the food cool before trying to remove them from the silicone to avoid floppy ness and burnt fingers
"Perfobake tart tray" star star star star_border star_border Thought this is a great idea and had no trouble lining the trays. However when I went to move the tray I got into real problems. It could do with a support tray. I may be using it wrong as I felt that the idea was for heat to get to all the item being cooked, and so did not put it on a baking tray. I thought the idea was to put it straight onto the oven shelf but this does not work as it is impossible to move once filled, especially with quiche. support_agent A note from the team Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry for the disappointment and have a handy tip: use a bakeware tray under the perfobake tart tray to make it more stable when removing from the oven. We'll be in touch shortly.
"No more soggy bottoms" star star star star star What a great product. Bakes lovely pastry cases every time - no soggy bottoms! Make sure you put it on a baking tray to steady it as you put it in& out of the oven.
