"Eco alternative to cling film?"

I hate using cling film as it is non-recyclable so I bought a set of these bowl covers as an alternative. They seem well made, but they are just cloth, so I suspect that they will stain pretty quickly. Might have been nice if they had a plasticized/treated backing, not only to keep stains at bay but also to make them more air tight. But then I guess they would not have been so eco-friendly. Slogans on top are cute - austerity chic indeed!
