"Nice Chopping Board"

star star star star star

I purchased one of these chopping boards in the store about 6 months ago and am very pleased with my purchase. I've oiled it a few times and have not submerged it in water as the shop assistant advised not to. I must have used it every day and it still looks as good as new.

"Going strong!"

I have never had an issue with the boards and have always been happy with the weight, quality and durability of them. A fantastic buy!

"Oak board"

I am pleased with this board. However it is very heavy. So far l haven't had an problems with scratch marks or warping. I followed one of the supermarket's cleaning tips by sprinkling salt on the surface and rubbing it with half a lemon. Works perfectly. Perhaps other customers might like to try this to remove any smells.

Thanks for placing your review and the great tip with the salt and half a lemon.

"Good but retains smells"

Lovely chopping board, very sturdy & weighty. However the rim at the edge catches any crumbs which can be annoying when trying to dispose of them. Also, the board seems to retain any smells. We chopped an onion on it the other day and it still smells of it. We tried cleaning it with salt and lemon juice but this has still not helped.

support_agent A note from the team

We're sorry to hear you've experienced this problem. To care for your board: wash by hand using a scouring pad or stiff nylon brush using an anti-bacterial washing up liquid and a small amount of warm water. Do not submerge the block. Add a small amount of bleach or vinegar to the water for extra bacteria killing power after chopping bacteria carrying foods such as raw chicken or rub the block with a half a lemon to kill the bacteria.Thoroughly dry the block after washing and periodically oil the block with mineral oil, this will preserve the life and condition of your chopping board. We hope this helps.

"Unexpected problems"

star star star_border star_border star_border

Very solid and just what I was after. But after only a couple of months the wooden blocks started to split in two places, despite good care, and rather strangely a lump started to grow right in the middle of the board... So I'm just about to test their returns policy ! (update: no questions asked refund to my account - great cust services). Regardless, think twice about whether a "crumbcatcher" (the trough around the edge) is useful for you. In reality, it never catches all the crumbs and it is difficult to scrape finely chopped garlic / onions into a pan or onto a plate.
