Lakeland Red Lattemagic

Bought one of these a few weeks ago in one of Lakeland's shops. Only came to the site to find a link to send to a friend and came across all these comments - I thought it was just me that had the problem of it being difficult to clean! Although I clean it every time straight away, there is one part of the base inside which always ends up with a residue which is difficult to clean. I find a non-scratch scourer best, but it is frustrating. I think I'd wait till the Mark 2, as someone else suggested, if I'd have known. It's shame, as it makes great froth effortlessly!

I have had this product for 6 months in chrome. It is great for what it does - froths milk for both latte and cappuccino but the milk always catches on one side at the bottom. I wash it after each use but once it has started to catch cleaning gets harder and harder - now the coating has started to come off and is showing the metal underneath.

I love this product and have found the best foam comes from skimmed milk and not full milk as the instructions say. I also get a brown mark from the heated milk in one area, but I find it's easy to clean by gentle use of a washing up brush with a little washing up liquid. I've had mine 6 months now with no problems.

I'm already on my second Lattemagic since receiving it for Christmas. The first one sparked then blew the fuse in the plug. My replacement worked well initially & makes great milky, frothy drinks. I can live with it catching on the bottom, but in the last couple of weeks, the frothing has now become very unreliable. I only use it 2 -3 times a week, so it's not through overuse!

Just the ticket, my granddaughter loves to use it to make hot chocolate or cold milkshakes. I make a great latte it is much better than the other well known brand which I ended up taking back. Well done Lakeland
