Don't put this ice cream scoop in the dishwasher. I did and it oxidised the metal!! good product though

I was attracted to the design of this scoop and was happy with the way it performed. But then I put it in the dishwasher - it hadn't occurred to me that I shouldn't. When it came out the shiny finish had been destroyed, worse it continued to produce a horrible grey residue, even after three handwashes in hot water, that has made me, frankly, reluctant to use it, and I intend to return it. I looked at the packaging and then saw the warning not to put it in the dishwasher, but I don't think it's acceptable that this should happen. Surprised and disappointed.
