"Chris Kettle" star star star star star I have a home made Haggis recipe which I have made for years. My main problem was the cooking bowl. I used to steam in the pressure cooker but then the bowl had to be able to stand the pressure, the string and paper on the top became soggy. I perfected my cooking time to the microwave but again the lid was an issue. I saw this bowl and ordered it. At the beginning I was disappointed with the inside shape but soon realized that it holds the same amount as a normal bowl. It has worked perfectly and I did not need to use the string. It is excellent, we all had Haggis yesterday for tea!
"Delicious" star star star star star Am delighted I've found this mould, I can boil it, microwave it and dishwasher it. And cook a steamed pudding in only an hour, as opposed to the hours it would traditionally take. Disappointing not to have the recipe on the bowl (or on a leaflet, it's written on the box instead) but you can find it on the internet and it is worth making. I'm sure I'll use it for many other steamed desserts than just sticky toffee. I've made it twice now and it turned out perfectly each time.
"Good Gadget" star star star star star Such a shame that Lakeland are no longer to stock this. Maybe people have been put off (like I was) by the reference to it being a Sticky Toffee Pudding Mould. It is wonderful for all types of steamed puds. I've been after a decent sized pudding basin that would fit in my 6L oval slow cooker for ages & this one does (just!). The markings inside (how much mixture to put in) & outside (level of water) are very helpful. Having read the reviewers cooking Haggis in it, maybe it could be remarketed as a more versatile pudding basin?
"sticky toffee pudding mould" star star star star star_border This is a great purchase if you ever indulge in steamed puddings, especially at £4.99! It has a central funnel shape inside like a bundt tin so your pud will come out ring shape. This was a surprise to me but explains how the cooking time is so reduced which is the main benefit of this product for me. From the item description I had expected the toffee pudding recipe to be printed on the bowl but it is not. I tried the accompanying recipe and enjoyed it but it is extremely sweet (what did I expect?!) In future I will be using the mould for suet puddings and I'll definitely give haggis a go.
"Super Pudding Mould" star star star star star_border I bought the mould a month or two ago, and finally plucked up the courage to make this sweetest of puds. Delicious. The central tube makes it a bit fussy to fill, but cooks so quickly and looks so pretty! I personally think the string is easy to tie, thanks to the wee grooves in the lid and bottom, which help to hold it in place.
