Silverwood Victoria Surprise Cake Set

Hi, I`m really pleased with this product. Like another poster, I think the details supplied by SIlverwood need to be improved as they are quite misleading talking about one pan? I used it today to make a sponge filled with cream and strawberried and it filled beautifully. I`ve used Silverwood pans before and am very happy with the quality. The cake looks stunning and I`m likely to think of different permutations with fillings etc but well done Lakeland- excellent product! Thank you ++

This product is excellent! There are 3 elements to the set, outer ring, flat base, raised base X 2. For the 'surprise' cake you just use the ring and the raised base (don't worry, it won't leak)! Line the flat area of the raised base (6.5 inches) with a circle of greaseproof paper, sticking it to the tin with a bit of butter. Then really grease and flour everything that is going to come into contact with the mixture (inc the greaseproof paper). After 10 mins resting turn the cake upside down onto a cooling rack, remove the ring and gently run around the edge of the raised base and lift off.

just used these after getting them today i didn't grease the tin (OOOPPPS) but sliding a knife gently around came off with little damage to the cake and none to the tin. very pleased with the finished result and will grease next time. excellent quality and will definitely buy more in this make

This has been the most useful cake tin I've ever purchased. Now nothing falls out from the middle or squashes out when cut into. So wish I could find the recipe card that came with it as that made a very tasty and easy cake.

This makes a great dessert if you simply fill with fresh strawberries and creme fraiche and cover the whole thing with a chocolate ganache. The tins tend to stick, so prepare them well before adding your mixture. Whatever you do, don't put them through the dishwasher. It ruins the finish!
