This is a great gadget, I have two of these, one which I use for demerara sugar and it works really well for sprinkling over rock buns etc the other I use as a flour dredger when baking works well for dusting work surface. Wonder if I can justify buying another!!
I am not surprised that this has been discontinued. Because although the pop-up top is a great idea, unfortunately the dispensing holes are far too big and therefore dispense far too much sugar, far too fast! Pity. I may use it to keep my cooking salt in, as I have found that you can quickly and easily tip a teaspoonful of salt into the palm of your hand with it. And the pop-up top will save me having to keep taking the top off the jar I have been using for salt ;-)
