Lakeland Deep Fat Fryer Liner

I hesitated for some time before buying this liner, due to the adverse comments. I always read reviews before buying, and usually abide by them. However, as I was about to discard my fryer I bought one, and am so glad I did. My problem was with batter sticking to the basket, and it was impossible to fry fish. This liner cured it completely, no more sticking and the food stays free & crisp. I am buying another as it is going out of stock, I NEED this!

Despite the previous review I thought I would give this a try as it is such a good idea. However, it is definitely too small & came about 2cm below the top of the basket which I thought I could get around by using less oil, didn't quite manage this on my first try - but will have another go with even less oil. The problem with 'bits' getting through at the corners I got around by not cutting out pieces, just cutting through & then folding round. Hard to explain without a diagram, but anyone who has lined a square baking tin will understand! It just needs to be 2cm bigger all round.

I thought this was going to be the answer to my prayers and purchased 2 sets, one for me & one for my duaghter-in-law. We both found exactly the same problems.the photograph shows the filter reaching the top of the basket. I have a standard fryer yet my filter only comes halfway up the sides of the basket therefore when the chips etc are lowered into basket the fat rises up & over the top taking all the bits with it. Where it folds round the edges at the corners the same thing happens.When I have finished frying and lift out the basket the filter is clean except for any really larger bits of debris and the fat is as full of little bits as it always was.A brilliant idea that has failed to fulfil it's promise for me.

I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased this item. As with the other reviews I found this far too small and am returning it to the shop for a refund. It's such a shame because the idea is a good one pity the designers/manufacturers didn't do their homework on sizing!!

Just like all the other reviewers, this item is much too small for our deep fat fryer basket. What's misleading is that the basket pictured on the packaging and the website clearly show a decent sized fryer basket. In reality, the liner doesn't even come half way up the basket. Save yourself £2.99 and buy some clean oil for your fryer instead.
