A simple, easy and safe way to restore and maintain all plain and scalloped edged kitchen knives. Part of the multi-award winning the Robert Welch Signature Knife range, this fool-proof ceramic hand-held knife sharpener has been especially designed to maintain their original form, sharpening then gently and precisely honing the blade edges to a Japanese style 15º angle and, providing superior sharpness every time keeping them in perfect condition.

Made with the same care and attention that is applied to their knives, the solid plastic handle is comfortable to hold, and the weighted, non-slip base ensures a firm footing on your worktop.

Simply hold the sharpener on a flat surface and run your knives through the replaceable advanced ceramic wheel. With only eight to 10 gentle strokes from heel to tip, your knives will be back to their precision-cutting best. Robert Welch recommend replacing your wheel every 12-24 months.

Honing vs sharpening

Honing your blade is key to good knife care. Some traditional sharpeners strip away metal from the blade edge, this can be destructive to the cutting edge over time. Honing is the gentle straightening out of a blade edge. Robert Welch recommend honing knives on a little and often basis, for home use this is usually every three to four weeks.

Please Note: Suitable for plain and scalloped edged knives. Not suitable for serrated knives.
