We thought we'd start with the first recipe - chocolate whoopie pies with marshmallow filling. We used the Lakeland whoopie pie tin. The results were delicious! They looked a little less professional than the ones in the book but the taste more than made up for that.

I bought this book and the whoopie pie tin as I love baking cakes and it looked so good and inviting. I made the strawberry ones and the chocolate chip ones and was very disappointed with both. I tried varying amounts of mixture in the trays and even tried baking them on a flat tray. Neither worked wonderfully well. the strawberry filling was disappointing and I had to add the maximum amount of icing sugar, it then tasted bland so I added seedless raspberry jam which improved the taste a little. I would be interested to hear about other people's results to know if it's me or the book!
