"It grew on me" star star star star star_border I read a rave review of this, so decided to buy one. Initially I couldn't get the hang of it and was disappointed, but now that I have got used to using it, I love it. I find it works best to push the blade away from me. The "eye remover" is great, and the julienne blade is superb - really easy to produce julienne carrots in no time.
"Julienne + peel" star star star star_border star_border It takes a bit of practice to get the hang of this gadget as its not ergonomic. In retrospect i would prefer to buy something with a handle. To julienne, I found it best to lay the veg on the cutting board and sweep the blade along it. The julienned slices are quite chunky on this cutter (2mm?). The serrated blade peels tomatoes well, and the flat blade also does its job. Its not difficult to clean as the clear casing un-clips so you can get to the insides to rinse and dry. Whilst slightly difficult to hold it is definitely better than my mandolin or grater for quick jobs... 3 1/2 stars
"Can't Get the Hang of This" star star star_border star_border star_border From other reviewers' comments there is obviously a knack to using this gadget - however I just can't get it. I find the shape really awkward to hold and either shred my fingers (working towards me) or waste a chunk of veg (working downwards or along food on a chopping board). I also find that I often accidentally press in the central button during use, allowing the gadget to rotate between blades. Positive features are razor-sharp blades that can tackle anything and ease of taking apart and cleaning.
