Most of the other can openers available from Lakeland had very complicated looking mechanisms which would not be easily cleaned (especially as none of them were dishwasher safe). This one looked really simple, and neat. I wasn't convinced that something with such a unique look and design would work - but it does, brilliantly. Once the lid is off, the cut edge of the can is really safe, as is the lid.
I have bought several can openers in the past without success of finding one that will open every can. When I saw this one advertised I thought it looked better than the others I have tried and bought one. On receipt of it I was very pleased with it as it opened cans perfectly but now some 3 months later it will not open any can and I am back to the problem of looking for another one to try. After spending £14.99 on an opener I really thought I had found one that would last forever but it seems to be the same as the cheaper ones and only lasts so long!

When this tin opener works its great but I have tried to open some cans and all it does is bend the metal therefore making it impossible to use a different tin opener. I would not recommend it. Theres no way of knowing which cans will work and which will be bent.
I liked the look of this product when I saw it in the catalogue, having never found a can opener I was really happy with. Then I read the one poor review and nearly didnt buy it but was persuaded to give it a try by Lakeland, and I'm so glad I did. It's great to use and even opens tins of condensed milk which my previous one did not.
I couldn't believe this would actually work when I looked at it in the shop, and wanted reassurance from the staff that I could bring it back. All I can say is that it's amazing. It is so easy to use I didn't think I was doing it properly and was surprised when the top of the can came off so easily. I love the fact that it's small but easy to hold and better looking than all of the others around. I also love that it takes off the top of the can like a lid, so you can easily replace it without there being any sharp edges. I am finding myself opening cans I don't need to use, just to check that it really is that easy. Amazing.
