Fresh Mill

Great little gadget although a little tricky to work out first time.I put coriander in mine. The other day when i went to make some couscous and it called for coriander i didnt have to go out and buy fresh (and end up wasting most of it) The coriander tasted nice and fresh straight from the freezer.I have just ordered another one to keep parsley or mint in during the winter months.

Good idea (that's why I bought it) but I'm disappointed. I use a lot of coriander but find it doesn't keep the way other living herbs do. If using over plates you have a max of about 2 minutes before the contents defrost, much less if over a hot pan, and once defrosted the mill doesn't grind properly. The contents become soggy and the plastic grinding teeth block.My main complaint is the lid which appears to clip in place OK until you freeze and try to use the mill. Then the lid will not stay in place so you have to grind with your hand on the top of the glass jar. The frozen lid has squirted sideways and hit my tiled kitchen floor so often I'm doubtful if it'll stand the impact on many more occasions, then I'll have a glass jar with no lid.

I was really excited when I ordered 2 of these Fresh Mills as I use a lot of coriander and parsley and I always find that buying the fresh stuff, it never lasts, and buying the frozen pre-chopped stuff is quite costly so I was hoping this would be the answer. Both grinders worked perfectly the first time, but since then have not worked at all, the disc that screws down on both of them appears to not wind down anymore and just keeps 'clicking' like it is stuck. Have tried numerous times to defrost, re-fill and freeze, but the same thing keeps happening. Am very disappointed with this product.
