Pasta Basket

My friend bought one of these pasta baskets. She brought it to our slimming club and we all thought it was great. My friend weighs out her pasta which the basket is perfect for and cooks her husbands in the same pan. We wondered if you had a similar idea for a rice basket. Love this product! My grandchildren like different vegetables so it is easy to use the same pan to cook pasta and 2 differing vegetables.

I bought these items as I have one child who likes peas and the other sweetcorn. These are brilliant for cooking both in one pan with no complaints from the boys. I have a pan big enough to cope with the two I purchased and would probably do 3 at a push.

I seem to be one of the lucky few that has saucepans that these fit onto quite happily (I have quite deep,small, pans which are ideal). The biggest problem with these baskets is the 'grip' that holds the basket onto the edge of your pan is too close to the basket itself. If this was further up the handle it would fit more pans and you'd need less water! It works well, but the '1 serving' line is far too small (just 35g of fusilli pasta!), and mine doesn't seem to be finished well so will swap it. The theory of this item is excellent, but the execution is not what it should be.

these were a great idea ,note were, because i received mine this morning , i ordered 3 to cook for 3 people but the thing is although the thing is well constructed and does what it needs too, unless you have a great big pasta pot these are not going to fit. in most homes you have the set of saucepans in three sizes. well even the biggest one will not fit more than a single basket. i now need to buy a very wide and not too tall saucepan to get all three in at once. my pasta pot will fit them but its so big the water you need to boil is far too much to cook just 3 small portions. so not really good
