Lakeland Keep Cool Cake Box

I live in Spain & use mine a lot. I love it but have had a problem fitting and securing the chiller disc in place. Ideally it would be fitted before putting the cake/quiche or whatever in place but that is frequently not practical. If the manufacturers could fix this aspect I would be buying these for Xmas for all my friends.

I bought this for transporting desserts to friends' houses - to keep them secure and cold. The gel disc has to be completely flat in the freezer or it will 'bulge' on one side and won't fit in the compartment at the bottom. The main problem is that the part that holds the gel section in place isn't very secure and has come away almost every time I've used it. Careful handling needed! I do still use it, though gingerly, and tend to hold it at the sides as the lid wouldn't be as secure as a lLck & Lock cake store. It is considerably cheaper than Lock & Lock though.

I bought this box as I make desserts for a local pub, and it seemed like a good idea as it would keep pavlovas etc cool whilst being delivered. The lid is awkward to fasten, and the handle seems worryingly flimsy. I will continue to use it, but compared to the wonderful lock and lock cake carrier it is certainly second best.

I bought this as I often make gateaux and thought that the keep cool idea would be great for transporting to parties. Unfortunately there is not enough head height in the carrier so I have been unable to use the lid as it won't fit over a gateaux and the keep cool section keeps coming loose. I will be taking this item back.

I bake for farmers' markets and thought this ideal to carry my chocolate cheesecake and keep it cooler longer. Whilst the ice pack does last up to 8 hours, like many ice packs the shape distorts slightly as it freezes, as a consequence it won't fit back into the cavity - so frustrating. Also the little pieces of plastic which lock the cavity are brittle and one was broken as we opened the package. My husband went on a special round trip of 20 miles to fetch this and we will have to do the same again to return it - and with the cost of petrol as it is - it's no joke!Complaints aside I've been a customer of Lakeland for many years and this is the first time I've ever been really disappointed. The many other products I've bought over the years are very, very good.
