"Perfect product!!" star star star star star I had intended to buy this in the online sale before my holiday, on my return they had sold out. A trip to the nearest Lakeland found a few still in stock at sale price. I bought this to make a change from the usual pancakes I cook for my fussy eater 8 year old grandson, he was so pleased with the end product he ate 24 in one sitting! Well designed pan, good non-stick coating, easy to use, good price when on sale.
"Aebleskiver Pan" star star star star star I've never had aebleskivers, but I was intrigued & my boys are very pleased with the results of my curiosity. I was VERY surprised that Lakeland didn't provide a recipe, but a quick trawl on the internet provides a wealth of recipes. We much prefer the waffle type recipes than the pancake type. Aebleskivers have quickly become a family favourite. On a practical level, the pan is very robust (but not wrist-breakingly heavy), extremely easy to clean by hand & aebleskivers are very easy & quick to make. Thank you Lakeland (& other reviewers) for introducing us to such a tasty treat.
"AEBLESKIVE PAN" star star star star star I bought this to use on my ceramic hob as a lighter substitute for my old traditional cast-iron one. It works beautifully and is easier to care for. It heats quickly and retains the heat well. The non-stick surface makes it easy to flip the aebleskive. The best tools for flipping are long wooden skewers (not a fork as shown..flip a quarter turn each time and you will get a nice spherical dumpling...lots of videos on You-tube...very easy once you see it done). Enjoy! support_agent A note from the team Thanks for placing your review.
"Make round pancakes!" star star star star star Many years ago I had a cast iron "pofinjer" pan, given to me by a friend who lived in Holland. Unfortunately it was lost when we moved house and for 25 years we have wanted a replacement. Today we had our first poffingers for 25 years made in our Lakeland Ebelskiver pan.Fantastic! Gorgeous round donutty balls with maple syrup and cream..Next time we shall try adding goodies like a piece of apple (traditional), cheese, choc chunks, prawns - the possibilities are endless. Here is a good basic recipe. (Makes about 24.)1 1/4 cups SR flour1 1/2 teasp baking powder.2 tablesp. caster sugar1 1/4 cups milk 1 large egg.Chuck it all in a mixing bowl. Beat till smooth.Pre heat pan to medium.Add tablesp.mix to each well.Turn over when cooked on one side.Keep in dish in warm oven until all cooked. Enjoy!Incidentally the pan is fantastic quality. I was doubtful about the appearance in the photo but it is really heavy aluminium - you should show a picture of the underside as well.
"At Last" star star star star star I actually wrote to Lakeland over a year ago asking if they could source these pans as I could only get the heavy cast iron ones which tend to be a nightmare to stop the mix from sticking. Never received a reply but glad they have now included them in their catalogue.Bought the new pan from their store at Handforth last week tried it today & what a difference,no sticking at all, even heat & perfect results.Just a pity the handles are not oven proof as many other uses could be found for this pan if only it could be put in the oven (Like the Cast iron ones) never the less 10/10. Hope now that they are stocking Nordic ware pans they will start selling the Nordic Ware Waffled Pancake Pan.
