"Thank you Lakeland" star star star star star I don't usually leave reviews for products, but in this instance felt I HAD to, I bought these moulds expecting the worst, given the reviews, who wouldn't? I couldn't be happier, the shortbread comes out perfect each and every time, first time I lightly greased the moulds as advised, but there is really no need, hot or cold the shortbread 'falls' out and a light dusting with caster sugar shows the detail to perfection. I couldn't be happier :-D Thank you Lakeland, shame the product is discontinued.
"Great - no problems!" star star star star star Bought these without looking at reviews, then nearly regretted it earlier today as I thought to look for tips on using them, as I have done before with other things. I used Cake Release, and pushed the dough fully down before putting more in to fill in, to make sure the mould features would be filled. They have come out perfect! I just had to loosen them slightly with a sharp knife once they had completely cooled. My next batch is now in the oven - very pleased!
"Festive Moulds" star star star star star_border These moulds are fantastic! My 6yr old daughter and I made the biscuits to the recipe on the box. After reading some reviews, I was a bit nervous as to whether they would come out of the moulds or not. We left them to cool for about 10 mins and at first it didn't seem like they were going to come out at all. I gently pushed a knife down the side and the biscuits came away freely without breaking. They tasted delicious too. Now the trick is going to be keeping them to give away rather than me and daughter eating them!
"Sticking shortbread" star star_border star_border star_border star_border A friend came to England with the request to buy me some shortbread moulds, and these xmas ones are what she chose-I too am disappointed in that they were to be gift wrapped in cellophane for a bazaar and I had literally to dig out the contents and feed them to my worms and soak the moulds. I lost heart and havent tried again, so much butter to waste. support_agent A note from the team Thanks for your review. Our buying team have tested this product for you and advise washing the moulds in warm water and drying them prior to first use, and greasing them when using for the first time. The moulds are unglazed and will absorb grease so will become easier to release with time. Please also allow 2.5 - 3 hours to cool before turning out. We'll be in touch to help.
"hope to get the hang of them soon...." star star star_border star_border star_border the shortbread was difficult to get out of the moulds, I had to use a knife. Didn't look much like a tree or father christmas but maybe I didn't push the mixture in enough. I used the recipe on the box. Wasn't very nice. I will try another recipe next time, use Lakeland cake release on the moulds and i will use a spoon to push in the mixture.
