Bought this cupcake maker for my granddaughters birthday, the cakes were burnt at the bottom and very pale on top and not very nice. I used lakelands paper cases. It took 12 mins but were still pale and flat on top. They did not rise very well.

I really wanted to like this product. I'm not a great cake baker but I thought this would be a good way to improve my skills. I have used the machine three times now and each time the cup cakes have burnt bottoms and are not cooked all the way through. I have carefully followed the recipe. they take a lot longer than 8mins to cook, I cooked one batched for 30mins and still they came out a mixture of burnt and soggy.
Thanks for placing your review. The cooking times you mention are longer than we would expect, so it's possible you've got a faulty machine that isn't heating as it should. I'll be in touch shortly to help.
The cakes are dry with a poor texture and consistency. Thinking it may be me I asked my daughter to bake a couple of batches using a different mixer etc., unfortunately she had the same results. So its back to the oven for us.

I was apprehensive but cupcake maker surpassed itself. I bought this Cupcake Maker on a whim thinking it would be useful when my niece comes to stay. It arrived this morning and I thought I would just try it out. I am already hooked and I have made 3 batches. And guess what they have all disappeared! Quickly warms up to temperature in approx. 5 mins and the cakes are ready in approx. 11 mins. Why use the oven when you have 6 cakes after approximately the same length of time it takes for the oven to warm up! If in doubt buy it – you won’t regret it!
Excellent little machine! Takes no longer than 10 mins to pop out lovely little cupcakes. Note that the recipe that comes in the pack is quite greasy and leaves little pools of oil in the bottom, so avoid that one if you can. Otherwise easy to clean and maintain, and great little kitchen gadget.
