"the solution to the 'small stalk' issue"

star star star star star

my first thought when i bought this product was "hmm what if i lose the stalks?" so i tried using standard wooden lolly sticks! just wedge them in at the same angle instead of the plastic ones. also if using wooden sticks you could even use them to make 'cake pops' if using the mould for cake mix! my i recommend lakeland product. http://www.lakeland.co.uk/1741/Wooden-Lolly-Sticks have fun!

"Lolly too heavy for the small 'stalk'"

star star star_border star_border star_border

When I got this I made yoghurt lollies with my daughters straight away, they loved them and they are very easy to remove from the silicone. BUT we have used them twice now and have already broken two of the green sticks from my daughter dropping it when it is just out of the freezer. Whilst I do plan to try and use these for cakes and other things, at this rate of breakage they aren't going to be able to have lollies much longer. If the design could be altered to help small hands securely hold the lolly then that would make them ideal.

"Lovely Lollies"

star star star star star_border

I bought this because my freezer compartment is not tall enough for standard lolly moulds. Pros:Will fit in a small freezer compartment.Lollies look beautiful- really nice made with strawberry yogurt (I use soya yogurt but I imagine it'd work with dairy). As it is silicone it can be used as a mould for jellies, chocolate or even cakes (it doesn't say so on the packet but I checked with Lakeland that it is the same silicone as used in bakeware, but obviously don't put the plastic lolly sticks in the oven!)If you are skilled/patient you might even be able to make choc ices (coat mould in melted choc, set, fill almost full with yogurt, freeze, pour melted chocolate onto the back, refreeze.) My first effort with vanilla yogurt and dark choc wasn't perfect as the chocolate peeled off quite a bit when I took it out, I think I didn't layer it thick enough or maybe didn't freeze long enough, but they were fun.Flexible silicone means you can bend the mould to get the lollies etc out.Cons: A bit priceyYou need to put it on a small tray (which also needs to fit in the freezer box) before filling, otherwise it will all spill out when you pick it up.The sticks are short, and they are at an angle, so lollies are a bit heavy/awkward to hold.

"Great product"

Well I took this home, washed it and tried two flavours straight away.Great fun, easy to use, but needs a stiff plate (or chopping board) under it or flops too much putting it into the freezer shelf. Also, I fear the stalks will be hard to keep track of, and would love to be able to have spares, as much as anything so I can make a second batch while the first are being scoffed.
