Lidded Ice Cube Tray

The lid on our plastic ice cube tray will prevent spillage between sink and freezer – just fill from the tap through the hole in the lid. Once in the freezer, ice will be kept free of taints and odours, and if you have more than one tray, they can be stacked.
Makes 14 cubes.

A great idea. Unfortunately, like many plastic items the lid becomes very brittle in the freezer. As a result, it cracked very badly within days, and now has half of it falling out. I bought two, but despite being very careful with the second one it too has developed serious cracks in the lid.

Seemed like a great idea, and a good price, but in reality after my first attempt to remove an ice cube the plastic lid cracked and a chunck of it fell out! Sadly, after my second attempt another crack appeared.......It should have a rubber type lid which is able to withstand freezer temperatures. I cannot understand why this was not picked up in pre-sales testing!

I loved the idea of a lidded ice-cube tray as it meant that I didn't have to put in flat in my very small freezer. However, the first time I tried to open it to retrieve the ice cubes, a huge crack opened all through the lid.

This lidded tray is perfect for freezing pureed portions of baby food. I was really disappointed when the lid snapped after only a few weeks.
Thanks for your feedback. For best results, the lidded ice cube tray shouldn't be frozen at temperatures lower than -18°C. We'll be in touch to help.
