"bread bag"

I bought this after becoming fed-up with a wooden bread bin I had. I have found that it keeps bought bread & hand-made bread (NOT using a breadmaker) quite fresh - for at least 3 days. I have a breadmaker but I find that bread made in this goes dry by the next morning whatever container I store it in, so I'm not surprised when others have said their bread goes dry quickly. Try using the Lakeland Ceramic Bread Baker to cook your bread in and then store it in the bread bag - wonderful! You can also fold it up & put it away when not in use - can't do that with a bread bin!

I purchased one of these bags about 6 months ago and have had no problems. I realised that as it was made of fabric bread might dry out quickly so I bought a packet of breathable bread bags also.I find that by leaving the bread to cool then putting it into a breathable bag before the fabric bag it keeps fresh for several days.

"Read the reviews before you buy"

I wish that I had read the reviews first although I didn't because I've never previously had any problems with Lakeland products. After recently getting a bread maker I needed something in which to store the wonderful bread so was looking forward to this arriving. Unfortunately the bread was stale by the following morning and I ended up throwing the loaf away. It may be OK for keeping a sliced loaf together for storage in a fridge or bread box, but really is unsuitable for storing bread on its own.

Thanks for placing your review. Sorry for the disappointment. I'll be in touch shortly to help. The buyer has commented: The bread bag provides a protective barrier against excess humidity and insects. Our tests show that the bread keeps fresher for longer than it would if kept in a bread basket.

I had this bag bought as a Christmas present. As I have found that home baked bread goes dry much faster than shop bought, I have always stored it in a plastic bag. I was therefore very interested in trying out this way of keeping it fresh for longer. Sadly I have found that the bread dries out even more quickly. Maybe the bags with a polythene lining would do the job more efficiently.
