Wouldn't it be great if you could keep leftovers as fresh and delicious as the day they were cooked? Or enjoy crisp, seasonal vegetables, no matter what time of year? Well, thanks to Seal-a-Meal, you can, and food waste will become a distant memory. By extracting all the air and keeping the freshness locked in, leftovers and just-bought food can be kept as fresh as the day they are stored, without fear of freezer burn, and in a fraction of the space a box would take up.

It's a real time-saver, and so versatile too; you can prepare meals in advance, freeze in Seal-a-Meal bags and then microwave or boil for easy reheating. As well as preserving the nutritional value of fruit and veg, it will even marinade in minutes rather than hours. It's simple to use – once your food is in the bag, just put the open end into the machine and press the button and Seal-a-Meal will suck out all the air and seal it too.

"A waste of money!"

This qualifies as my most expensive and useless purchase of the year. 4 haunch of venison, 6 rabbits and 2 pheasants to joint and freeze, I drove a total 50 miles to purchase this. It is incredibly noisy, takes forever to make a bag, and needs repeated attempts to vac and seal contents. Then there is still air in the pack. You HAVE to purchase the expensive extra bags, as there is no roll of bagging included. I will consign it to the back of the cupboard to haunt me and continue to use the reliable and simple method my mother taught me 40 years ago, of using a straw!

I have had the seal a meal for some time now. overall I am happy with its proformance. It does tend to allow air into some of my dried goods as it is finickity, or rather the bags are. I use another make of bag roll and it then works fine. I have some long term goods that after a few months tended to reveal a leak causing me to re-seal and hope for the best. Those goods sealed and used within a month are just fine.

"purchasing second one!"

This product works great! I like the tube function as I have several containers from America that have vacuum seal attachments on the top. It's fun to watch marshmellows shrink to half their size when the air is pulled out of the jar, and then blow up when the lid is opened!

"Minuses and Pluses"

I have had this for over a year and here are the cons and pros; It is very noisy. It takes ages to heat for the first seal. It's not long before it needs to be left to cool down, then it takes ages to heat again. Replacement bags are expensive. Sometimes it seals but doesn't vacuum The vacuum fails on sealed bags. I lost £10 of cherries that way. But it is easy to clean. It doesn't take up much storage space. The price is very reasonable. It does the job as well as many more expensive sealers. You can always get hold of the bags. If it goes wrong, it will be sorted out.

"Great product, but where are the accessories?"

Canit fault it for sealing meat, fish and *most veg, as for soups and sauces in bags, that can be forgotten. It doesnt like high moisture items and it simply wont seal, it will just waste bags and make a mess. This is why the seal-a-meal range is advertised with vacuum canisters exactly for this purpose, soups, sauces and other liquids. Does Lakeland sell these.. no. Can I find them anywhere else.. no. But yet the item is supplied with the tube as standard and the seal-a-meal website even offers attachable bottle stoppers to preserve fine wines etc.
