By extracting all the air and keeping the freshness locked in, leftovers and just-bought food can be kept as fresh as the day they are stored, without fear of freezer burn, and in a fraction of the space a box would take up.
It's a real time-saver, and so versatile too; you can prepare meals in advance, freeze in Seal-a-Meal bags and then microwave or boil for easy reheating. As well as preserving the nutritional value of fruit and veg, it will even marinade in minutes rather than hours. It's simple to use – once your food is in the bag, just put the open end into the machine and press the button and Seal-a-Meal will suck out all the air and seal it too.

Once you have mastered the problem of ensuring that you keep liquids away from the sealing edge it works fine. It seals the majority of items effectively but you must make sure you get most of the air out first. My brother in law has used the same or similar product in Canada for a long time and finds it very effective.
I debated for a while because I tend to use clingfilm to wrap things for the freezer. This is good to use - easy to make your own bags and although noisy (as a previous reviewer said) I can't see that as a problem. I tried beefburgers but the vacuum seal squished them - so freeze them first THEN seal them would be my recommendation! The vacuum does tend to make the bags curl up but that is a minor irritation. Overall - I think this is a good product...Could do with some variety of refills available - narrower bag rolls, wider bags? and what's the tube thing about?
I am delighted with the results that I get from this product, however, I did have to go back to check the exact placement of the end that I wanted to seal (where you place the edge depends on whether you are starting a new bag from the roll, or wanting to seal in goodies)As well as not wasting half packs of anything because it has gone stale, I have an excellent way of ensuring that I have no leaky shampoo/sun cream bottles in my luggage. Just seal the whole bottle into a bag!
On receipt of this machine went through the freezer replacing all torn and partial open bags. When I came to seal the contents in a bag that contained a liquid as was the lady who tried sealing a bag with gravy in, I to found the liquid was sucked towards the seal.Not to be beaten I placed the bag in the freezer to freeze the liquid first then sealed the bag brilliant no problem at all.
100% great product. Saves freezer/fridge space. Takes some mastering but once there, no problem. Noise level is what you would expect. Bags a bit pricey but not as pricey as throwing away food. 100% pleased. Just done some veg. Great will last for 2 weeks. Worth consideration.
