"Great product" star star star star star These crumpet rings were great. I didn't use the recipe on the packet though which seems to be the problem that other reviewers have. You must make sure that you oil the rings really well and that they are warm/hot before the batter goes in them. It took a few goes to get the hang of this but one I did the crumpets came out no problem.
"Life is not too short to make crumpets" star star star star star I was bought these crumpet rings as a present after moaning that shop bought crumpets didnt taste that good. I did think before I used them that it was a bit of a faff, but that I'd better use them as they were a present. Well, I'm totally converted! The batter was easy to make, the crumpets were too and they freeze brilliantly. Best of all they taste divine! I did overfill the rings to begin with (half full does mean just that) and a medium heat was a bit hot at first, its a balancing act between not burning the bottom but enough heat to make the holes form. Will be making them again!
"Yummy crumpets!" star star star star star I've made brilliant crumpets with these rings. I used the Hairy Biker recipe and greased the rings well - they turn out perfectly!
"Great Product" star star star star star Very easy to use and made fantastic crumpets! As long as you make sure to oil the rings fully before each batch and heat them before pouring in the batter - the hotter the better. I used Paul Hollywood's recipe and they are delicious. Easy to clean too.
"Fab!!" star star star star star Really cannot fault this item at all! I would recommend only half filling the ring to ensure fully cooked right through on a low heat (NOT a product design fault) Crumpets did not stick or last long on the cooling rack after cooking! Recipe used for breadmaker on dough setting is as follows:-Half cup tepid waterHalf cup tepid milk1 beaten egg1tsp caster sugarhalf teaspoon salt1 and 1/4 cups white bread flour1tsp yeast
