"Excellent" star star star star star I bought one of these scoops wondering how much I would really use it. It is brilliant! So easy to remove food cooked either by frying or boiling. The material doesn't damage either in high temperatures or in the dishwasher. Definitely recommended!
"Essential Kitchen Equipment!" star star star star star I am a sucker for kitchen gadgets, much to my husband's despair. When this arrived in our kitchen, he rolled his eyes! However, since using it, I have converted him. It's fabulous. I have not found it awkward, in fact, as a left-handed person, I find it a refreshing change to find a utensil that I don't have to adapt to use!!! Used very regularly, it's quickly gone to into my top 10 kitchen essentials!
"A perfect idea" star star star star star_border I have limited space for colanders and sieves and am not connected to the main sewer system so have to watch the amount of water thrown down the sink, this helps me to fish out the food and leave the water behind so I can reuse it for other veg, eggs etc or keep for stock. I would recommend this for every caravan owner as it makes life simpler. I agree that it does not fit every pan but with some careful tilting it can cope with most sizes.
"Good idea, but design not quite right" star star star_border star_border star_border We bought this assuming it would be useful for scooping up various cooked items, but have not used it after our first unsuccessful attempts. It just seems to be the wrong shape or size for anything. Too big or too flat to get stuff out of saucepans and not flat enough to scoop things off baking trays etc. If you look at the illustration, you can see how difficult the shape would make extracting food from that saucepan.
"super scooper" star star star star star This is brilliant for scooping things out of a pan when you want to use the hot water for something else - such as cooking pasta, couscous or rice after veggies, or to use the water as a base for stock or soup. It's been in almost daily use as it has a good capacity and catches all the little bits in the pan, doesn't splash (I think the drainage holes are lined up specially...) and is non-stick-pan friendly, and you can use it one-handed.
