"Wonderful product - lovely crispy skin!"
Wasn't too sure whether to get this product as I have plenty of roasting tins and - to be honest - I thought it was a bit expensive at £19.99. Plus there were no reviews of it on the Lakeland website. And - to be brutal - the picture of the product and the roast chicken on the Lakeland website it awful!- the chicken has soggy skin, not the lovely crispy skin you would be hoping for.Anyhow - thought I would give it a go on the basis that if it didn't do what it said on the tin, I could rely on the Lakeland money back guarantee.Well, it works beautifully - you have lovely crispy skin all the way round, and that rather rubbish bottom bit of a duck or chicken is delicious because the skin is crispy. Plus the roast meat seems more succulent than usual - probably because standing it up helps with the bird self- basting - as the juices run down over the whole bird. It's easy to clean because of the non-stick, and the fat pours out easily because of the design.The only thing to consider before ordering it is the size of your oven as an upright chicken / duck on the roaster is quite high. It fits fine in my oven but might not in a more compact oven.Incidentally, I looked online to see if this product / a similar one was avaiable elsewhere (cheaper), and I couldn't find anything readily available.
