"Very useful" star star star star star I have wanted one of these (and a sugar dredger) forever. It is lightweight and easy to use and although it looks flimsy is well made.Ideal for flouring pastry (and roast potatoes) without making a huge mess and wasting a lot of flour as you can use a spoonful to a cupful and any leftover put back in the container
"Does the job perfectly!" star star star star star Although very lightweight this is well-made, and very easy to use. It's easy enough to clean - just make sure it's thoroughly dry before you use it again. Perfect to use, and cuts down on waste - and the mess! - when the children help with the baking / dusting.Just like the one my nan used to have too!
"Cannot wash it?" star star star star_border star_border Lovely gadget, but some bits got stuck inside the mechanism and no matter how much I wash it, I cannot get rid of them. They started to smell badly after a week. Any suggestions as to how to take the sifter apart to wash it inside? I am pretty gutted as I wanted to make a few more cakes soon! support_agent A note from the team Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry for the problems that you're having in cleaning the sifter and will be in touch shortly.
"Small" star star star_border star_border star_border This is a great little gadget. It is much less messy to use than a sieve. However, I find it really only copes with about 2 ozs of flour at a time. This is great for small quantities but not for large batch cooking. I actually have one I got from Lakeland some years ago that is about twice the size, but still not big enough for large quantities. I remember my mother had a really large one and wonder if Lakeland might source a 'big brother' to this for those times when a lot of sifting is required. This one is really too small support_agent A note from the team I'll pass your suggestion to our Buying team for their approval.
"messy gadget" star star star_border star_border star_border I was delighted to find the flour sifter but it is now at the back of the cupboard because it leaks flour from the base all the time. Everytime it is picked up, half of the flour is left on the worksurface. Remedy? Have to place it in a plate all the time can't one be supplied to fit the bottom? support_agent A note from the team Thankyou for your feedback on the flour sifter, we'll pass your idea for a plate to fit the bottom to our buyers to consider as a future product improvement.
