"Disappointing"

Whilst I agree the kettle certainly looks good, I've found the lid difficult to grip to open, the kettle awkward to fill whilst looking at the water level and heavy ergonomically to pour unlike upright jug kettles. If you have to refill the kettle again immediately after one boil, to fill a pan for example, be aware that you will burn your hand if you fill from the top rather than through the spout, unlike a jug kettle with a hinged lid. I was also surprised just how hot the metal parts of the handle got. Sorry to say I will be returning it to the shop.

"looks great but soon developed a fault"

As previous reviewers have commented, it looks great and is a lovely shade of cream. However I have only had it for 2 months and already it has developed an inconsistent fault. Twice in the past 3 days it has failed to switch off. I will be taking it back for a replacement as soon as I can.

"Sadly disappointed"

I was really pleased with this kettle at first; lovely style, nice colour, quick and quiet to boil. However, after a couple of months the lid started to get rust spots. Lakeland kindly exchanged it for a new one but unfortunately the same thing has happened again. I'm now trying the upright cream kettle but the lid is also metal so the jury will be out for a while. A real disappointment as I loved the traditional style of this one.

"Excellent"

I bought this kettle after purchasing a well known brand one where the knob on the lid kept coming off (it was only glued on). This one is very sturdy, quiet and quick to boil. Once again I am very pleased with my purchase from Lakeland.

"something to consider"

Hi I have received this kettle and it looks great and the colour is great not too yellow like some creams I have seen.Something you may want to consider is that the spout is very narrow which you may find as a disadvantage if you like to fill the kettle through the spout like myself rather than removing the lid, also it is a lot nosier than my previous kettles.However I do like the looks of the kettle and it is very sturdy to carry and i am now thinking of buying the matching toaster as the colour is great.
