Tell-tale rings of pepper and salt on the tablecloth or worktop; filler holes that are too narrow; fiddly knobs that are hard to grip… We thought it was high time for a design re-think! Standing 'upside-down', our new mills won't scatter their contents willy-nilly while the see-through resevoirs detach completely for easy filling. As for fiddly-knobs - the unique 'squished' design of ours is perfectly shaped to twist for straightforward adjustment from fine to coarse grinding. All in all, these really are 'no-mess' mills.

I exchanged my first pepper mill because it was faulty. The second one broke after 7 months light use. The thread stripped on the salt mill. Fortunately Lakeland refunded my money - thankyou!

These look nice, but are klunky to use. It's not obvious how to adjust them for the desired coarseness, and the pepper mill broke after only a few months, depositing whole peppercorns into my casserole! Not up to the usual Lakeland standard.

I loved the idea of these so have salt and pepper mills. Unfortunately, I noticed today that the base of the clear plastic jar is loose. It would be much better if this was one moulded piece. Now my salt is damp and has made the grinder rusty. They are both ready for the bin. *Update* Lakeland have now replaced this product. Unfortunately, it is the same design so I am not confident that I won't have the same problem in the future. However, thank you to Lakeland for promptly dealing with my problem. *Update 2: 2nd mill is now in the bin. The spring got rusty and broke and salt is wet.
