Tell-tale rings of pepper and salt on the tablecloth or worktop; filler holes that are too narrow; fiddly knobs that are hard to grip… We thought it was high time for a design re-think! Standing 'upside-down', our new mills won't scatter their contents willy-nilly while the see-through resevoirs detach completely for easy filling. As for fiddly-knobs - the unique 'squished' design of ours is perfectly shaped to twist for straightforward adjustment from fine to coarse grinding. All in all, these really are 'no-mess' mills.

Same experience as most others I am afraid. In truth my pepper mill has lasted a little longer than many, but it is still less than a year old and now broken. It's a shame as it is a very good idea, but the mounting needs to be much stronger.

Bought both the salt and pepper mills about 4-5 months ago and at first was delighted with them. However, as one of the other reviews, the base came clean away on the pepper mill. I have stuck it together with glue and it's working at the moment. At the same time, I bought a set for my daughter and at the moment hers seems to be OK.

I bought 3 sets of salt & pepper mills for my home, holiday home & motorhome. Loved them until last week when one broke at the top - the little plastic grid part snapped. It really should be metal. I am now worried that the other 5 units will go the same way. It is a great idea as the deposits of salt & pepper used to drive me so mad that I kept my mills in food bags in the cupboard. I would not recommend this item because of that.

This is the second no-mess pepper mill I have got from Lakeland, after the first one broke. The second one has now also fallen to pieces - the bottom fell off as well as the grinding mechanism stopping working. I love the idea of these pepper mills but unfortunately neither of the mills I have had have lasted more than 6 months.

Like other reviewers I bought the salt and pepper mills but the bottom of the pepper mill has just sheered off completely. What can you do about this as it seems that even if they are replaced there is a manufacturing quality problem?
