How many cakes have you turned out with overdone edges, while the rest of the cake is light, fluffy perfection? Bake-Even Cake Strips are a simple solution, no need to fiddle with ingredients or cooking times; just soak these magic strips in cold water and use the pin to fasten around the middle of your tin. The cool water regulates heat distribution so the sides heat evenly, resulting in a cake with a level top and smooth sides for easy decorating.

Fit 8" or 9" cake tins, and can be joined together for larger celebration cakes. Reusable.

"Not sure!"

The info with the strips states not to be used above 350F (Gas 4) so no good for sponges. Baked my usual Christmas cakes using them but they were dried out long before the cake was cooked so maybe best on smaller cakes (mine are a 9" square and a 2lb long loaf tin). Not sure of the 'no cracks' or 'crusty edges' either , my cakes had both. Probably works as good as the old wrapping newspaper round tins but not as fiddly although not a magic invention!

"Didn't make any difference"

As a professional cake maker I thought these would be such a good idea but sadly they didn't live up to expectations. I have tried them a couple of times now and I don't feel that they made any difference at all.

"Not even bake"

Bought these items recently. Found they worked on round cakes (madeira - cooked at 150C) but not on square ones.
